[ARCHIVED] Cameras Go Underground as Brookings Pipes Viewed

Television inspections of more than five miles of storm drain pipe and three miles of sewer pipe are slated to begin this week in Brookings and the Harbor Sanitary District.

The work will be performed by C-More Pipe of Portland.

”The inspection will only include main lines and is necessary to identify failures and deficiencies to avoid pipe failure and leakage,” said Public Works/Development Services Director Loree Pryce.

After the inspection is completed, C-More Pipe will make repairs using a trenchless technology.

“This will become an annual occurrence in Brookings,” Pryce said. “We have quite a bit of storm water intrusion into our sewer collection system, and treating this storm water as sewage is just too expensive.”

Questions concerning the project can be directed to Brookings Building Official LauraLee Snook at 541-469-1131.
