CITY OF BROOKINGS

COUNCIL AND MEASURE RESULTS

Mayor Ron Hedenskog and Councilor Michelle Morosky were re-elected, and Andy Martin was elected to a vacant City Council seat in Brookings on Tuesday.

All three will be sworn in at the City Council meeting of January 9, 2023.

Two measures placed on the ballot by the Brookings City Council were also approved by the voters.  

A measure to increase the local fuel tax to five cents per gallon and extend the duration of the tax for an additional five years passed 1,666-1,144 (about 60-40). 

A measure to place a two-year moratorium on psilocybin product manufacturing and service centers passed 1,678-1,017 (about 62-38).
