[ARCHIVED] Baron Appointed Brookings as Public Works and Development Service Director

The appointment of Tony Baron as Public Works and Development Services Director for the City of Brookings was announced this week by City Manager Janell Howard.

Baron has been serving in an Interim capacity since the previous director left in December.

Baron has worked for the City since 2012 as the Parks/Technical Services Supervisor and Parks/Planning Manager.

A native of Brookings, Baron has 19 years in the planning and architecture field.  Prior to working for the City of Brookings, Baron worked for an Architecture and Planning firm in Eugene for six years and has owned his own design business since 2005.

After graduating from Brookings Harbor High School, Baron received his Bachelor's degree in Art History and his Master's degree in Architecture, both from the University of Oregon.

“We are happy to be able to promote Baron from within the organization,” Howard said.  “He has worked very hard to prepare for his new role, and we are hoping this will be a long-term relationship given his experience with the community.”

"I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the community in this new capacity," Baron said.  "And I am excited to continue working with a great team of people."
