[ARCHIVED] Sunday Summer Concert - Igor and the Red Elvises
Don't miss the last FREE concert of the season, this Sunday, September 2 at 1 pm in Azalea Park featuring Igor and the Red Elvises. This eclectic, artistic, and fun band is sure to put a smile on your face. Igor Yuzov was born in Germany, raised in Ukraine and studied in Russia. He grew up in the former Soviet Union, where folk music was the norm and rock'n'roll was illegal. A rebellious streak, however, led him to seek out the forbidden music. As soon as it became possible, Igor left Russia for America with his “Folk'n'Roll" band. Evolving over the years, Igor’s music has been labeled "Siberian Surf Rock” which contains humorous lyrics and grooves that forces his audience to dance, a party band!
Sunday Summer Concerts have been brought to you by Rogue Credit Union, Wild Rivers Motorlodge, Les Schwab Tire, Blue Pacific Realty, Brookings Inn Resort, Two if By Sea, At Rivers Edge RV Resort, Curry County Cultural Coalition, Natures Coastal Holiday, Curry Coastal Pilot, and the City of Brookings.
Concert goers are welcome to bring their lawn chairs and blankets, spread out on the lawn with a picnic lunch or grab a meal at the snack shack. Come sing along, clap your hands and dance to old and new music!
