[ARCHIVED] Pistol River Wave Bash Coming Soon

Thirty-three windsurfers from around the world will compete in the 9th Annual Pistol River Wave Bash hosted by International Windsurfing Tour and scheduled June 7-10 at Pistol River Beach.

The event is still accepting applications to participate and has reduced its entry fee to $80, encouraging windsurfers at every skill level to consider competing. Online registration is available at https://internationalwindsurfingtour.com.

In addition to the exciting competition, event organizers have coordinated a raffle, offering a variety of sailing and wave bashing prizes. Food and kite vendors will also be on hand. The event is free and open to the public.

New this year, International Windsurfing Tour scheduled a portion of the competitors’ evening activities in Brookings, including dining on Thursday, June 7 at Vista Pub. The public is invited to come meet and speak with the competitors and enjoy a little Jazz with Jerry.

Because of an event sponsorship endorsed by the Brookings Tourism Promotion Advisory Committee and approved by City Council, event videographers will also be filming in town that week, highlighting various sightseeing hot spots. The footage will be included in a post-event video, featured on International Windsurfing’s website.
