Citizens of Brookings will have an opportunity to provide input on future capital improvement projects in Brookings Parks.
The City will host a public workshop on February 22 at 4:00 pm in the Emergency Operation Center, 888 Elk Drive, to discuss updates to the Brookings Parks Master Plan. The workshop will kick off with a presentation of the 2011 Master Plan followed by a break out session to discuss future capital improvement projects the public would like to see implemented in parks.
The Parks Master Plan was last updated in 2011 and included 80 prioritized capital improvement projects. The plan is now six years old and is in need of an update. Of the 80 projects listed in the plan, 53 have been completed and another nine projects are under way.
Staff proposes to review the current Master Plan, make corrections throughout the document to reflect the progress made over the past six years, and to create a new Capital Improvement Plan, listing future projects in parks.
The Parks Master Plan is available to download from the City’s webpage at www.brookings.or.us. For more information contact the Park and Planning Manager at 541-469-1159.
