Construction work continues on the City of Brookings 60” Storm Drain project. Starting Tuesday, September 5 thru September 30th, Railroad Street will be closed to thru traffic between Pacific and 5th Streets. Businesses including Quality Fast Lube, Discount Flooring, West Coast Organics and the soon to be opened VA Clinic may be accessed by customers from the Pacific side of Railroad. Businesses including Fred Meyers, Valvoline Oil Changers and US Bank will have access from 5th Street.
Also starting Tuesday, September 5th and going thru October 31st Railroad Street will be open to South bound traffic ONE WAY starting at Memory Lane going towards Oak Street. This ONE WAY road closure will mirror the one recently used for the Railroad waterline and sewer line projects this summer. Railroad north bound traffic to Wharf Street will be detoured to Hemlock and Spruce Streets.
Motorists are requested to use alternate routes until this work is completed. Please contact Public Works Supervisor Richard Christensen at 541-469-1171 with any questions.
