[ARCHIVED] Food Bank Extends Hours

Emergency extended hours at Brookings Harbor Food bank are, as follows:

Wednesday, August 23, the Brookings Harbor food bank will be open from 10 AM until 5 PM.

Thursday, August 24, the Brookings Harbor food bank will be open from 10 AM until 2 PM.

Friday, August 25, thr Brookings Harbor food bank will be open from 10 AM until 2 PM.

In addition to providing food support for our community and our citizens most in need during this emergency situation, our food bank is asking for special support in these areas:

(1) Tax deductible donations of cash--donations of cash allows the food bank to buy food at the cheapest price through special State of Oregon food system appropriations. This means that, the price of food is very, very low, and is not retail priced. The discounts that the food bank gets provides more bang for your donated buck;

(2) Non-perishable food items that need little or no preparation are best for emergency situations. Peanut butter and jelly; canned meats; canned foods with flip tops:?tuna fish and other high-protein foods including canned beans, etc.

The Brookings Harbor food bank is located at 539 Hemlock St., Brookings Oregon. If you have any questions please call Pam Weinbarger st 541-469-6988 or Connie Hunter at 602-541-5903.

Donations can made directly via our website: http://www.brookingsharborfoodbank.org. Also please visit our Facebook page.
