[ARCHIVED] Azalea Park Ball Field Restrooms Operational

The Azalea Park ball field restrooms are operational.

The Brookings Harbor Adult Softball Association began using the restrooms in February during the Slippery Banana Belt Softball Tournament and the Brookings Harbor Little League is currently using them for league play. The restrooms are open for youth and adult leagues which use the sports complex for regular league and tournament play.

The restrooms were constructed as part of the four-phased Azalea Park Ball Field Reconfiguration Project which began in August 2015.

Phase one of the project includes the restroom/concession building, maintenance building, new back stops and dugouts, concrete flatwork and paved pathways from the parking lots accessed from North Bank Road and Lundeen Road.

The $353,000 phase one project is partially funded from an Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) Local Government Grant, City general funds and local donations from The Brookings Harbor Adult Softball Association. The City's Parks and Technical Services Supervisor Tony Baron applied for and received the $212,000 grant from OPRD and received a $27,000 donation from the Brookings Harbor Adult Softball Association specifically earmarked for ball field restrooms.

Phase one is scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer.
