[ARCHIVED] Deadline Approaching to Apply for Council Position #3

The City of Brookings is now accepting applications to fill vacant City Council Position #3.

City Council Position #3 became vacant this month due to Councilor Jake Pieper winning the Mayor’s seat in the November 2016 election.

The candidate appointed to fill Position #3 will complete the current term which ends in January, 2019.   

Applicants for the position must be registered electors of the State of Oregon and City of Brookings residents for at least 12 months preceding appointment.  Appointment is scheduled to take place at 7:00pm, Monday, February 27th, during a regular City Council meeting.  Residency and voter registration will be verified by the City and County Election Offices, respectively.

Applications are available now at City Hall and may be downloaded from the City’s website at  Completed applications must be received by the City Recorder, 898 Elk Drive, Brookings, no later than 4:30pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2017.  For more information call 541-469-1102.
