A video highlighting dining and entertainment opportunities in and around Brookings has been posted to YouTube and the City’s website, City Manager Gary Milliman said today.
The nine minute video introduces viewers to dining and drinking opportunities at 15 different venues in the Brookings Harbor area. Locations include both new and traditional restaurants, and two brewpubs.
“The purpose of the video is not to promote any single restaurant, but to demonstrate to the viewer that there is a variety of quality food and drink to choose from when visiting Brookings,” Milliman said.
Milliman noted that there are 24 restaurants located within the City. “Brookings is becoming quite the foodie place,” he said. “We are becoming increasingly recognized as a great place to have an evening out for some great food, spirits and entertainment.”
The video was produced by Xplore Films of Portland and was funded by the City through Transient Occupancy Tax revenues.
“The Tourism Promotion Advisory Committee has set a goal of adding at least one promotional video to our library every year and push the video out to YouTube and social media,” Milliman said.
The dining video can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhBXfHfm5-k or on the City’s website at www.brookings.or.us by clicking the “VIDEOs” button. The City now has 12 tourism promotion videos of varying lengths available on the website and on the internet.
