Every summer the City receives calls asking if it is required to have an address painted on the curb in front of your house. The short answer is “no” although it is a good idea and may help emergency services locate your residence. According to Public Works and Development Services Director LauraLee Snook, “we have recently drafted regulations requiring that anyone seeking to provide this service obtain a permit and a City business license. Part of the licensing process is to ensure that the individual maintains insurance coverage.” Information regarding permitting is available on the City website or may be obtained by contacting Lauri Ziemer at 541-469-1103.
