[ARCHIVED] HEFFINGTON TO RETIRE AS CITY RECORDER

Joyce Heffington has announced her retirement as Brookings City Recorder effective April 30.
Heffington has served as Administrative Assistant to the City Manager and City Recorder for ten years. She previously served as Communications Officer in the City’s 9-1-1 center.

The City Recorder provides administrative support to the City Manager and the City Council, and serves as the City’s elections officer and keeper of records.

“Joyce Heffington is very dedicated to providing a high level of public service and we will miss her,” said City Manager Gary Milliman.

“Joyce was instrumental in the development of the City’s current website and continues to make improvements,” Milliman said. “She also developed the current program for posting the City Council agenda and the various associated staff reports on the website in a format that has improved public access and transparency,” Milliman noted.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Joyce for these past nine years,” said Mayor Ron Hedenskog. “Her professionalism has been outstanding. I will miss her eagerness to serve the Council and community and wish her the best in her retirement.”
