[ARCHIVED] City Accepting Applications to fill Vacant Council Position

The City of Brookings is now accepting applications to fill vacant City Council Position #4.

City Council Position #4 became vacant this week when the City Council unanimously voted to accept Councilor Kelly McClain’s resignation from Position #4 and declare the position vacant. McClain resigned from his position after serving on the Council for four years, effective December, citing his relocation to Arizona. McClain also served 3 years on the Planning Commission.

The candidate appointed to fill Position #4 will complete the current term which ends in January, 2019.

Applicants for the position must be registered electors of the State of Oregon and City of Brookings residents for at least 12 months preceding appointment. Appointment is scheduled to take place at 7:00pm, Monday, January 25th, during a regular City Council meeting. Residency and voter registration will be verified by the City and County Election Offices, respectively.

Applications are available now at City Hall and may be downloaded from the below link. Completed applications must be received by the City Recorder, 898 Elk Drive, Brookings, no later than 4:30pm, Friday, January 15th, 2016. For more information call 541-469-1102.
