[ARCHIVED] Katelyn's Cause Accepting Donations

Katelyn’s Cause is accepting cash donations to buy gifts for its fifth annual trip to the oncology ward at Doernbechers Children’s Hospital. Katelyn’s Cause was founded in memory of Katelyn Wallace who lost her fight against cancer April 24, 2008; she had just turned 17.

Cash donations will be used to purchase gifts for children ranging in age from a few months to 18 years who will be forced to spend the holidays in the Oncology Ward at Doernbechers Children’s Hospital while they undergo cancer treatment.

Due to their impaired immune systems, the types of gifts that the children in the Oncology Ward may accept are limited, which is why Katelyn’s Cause asks for cash donations. Katelyn’s Cause works closely with Doernbecher’s to ensure that only appropriate gifts are purchased.

Anyone wishing to give to Katelyn’s Cause may contact Chief Chris Wallace or Lieutenant Donny Dotson at 541-469-2163. Donations may also be made directly to the Katelyn Cause Memorial Fund at the Rogue Federal Credit Union.

All donations for Katelyn’s Cause go directly to the purchase of gifts for the kids which are delivered personally by Chief Wallace around the 2nd week of December.
