[ARCHIVED] Fuel Tax Measure on Back of Ballot

Image of ballot box

When ballots for the May 19 election started arriving in voter mailboxes this week, Brookings officials noted that the City fuel tax measure is on the back of the ballot.

“It’s the only item on the back of the ballot and we hope voters won’t miss it,” said Mayor Ron Hedenskog. The full text of the measure is on the back page of the ballot along with the space for voting.

Information on the measure which would enact a four-cent per gallon fuel tax and repeal the existing $2.98 per month System Replacement Fee collected through City water and sewer bills can be obtained on the City’s website, at Brookings City Hall or by contacting City Manager Gary Milliman at 541-469- 1101.
