[ARCHIVED] City Invites Public Comments on the National Disaster Resiliance Competition Program

The City of Brookings and the Port of Brookings Harbor are working with the State of Oregon to develop a grant proposal under the National Disaster Resilience Competition (NDRC) program. A fact sheet describing the NDRC may be viewed by clicking on the NDRC Fact Sheet link below.

The focus of the program is to address unmet needs occurring as a result of the 2011 tsunami disaster and to identify possible projects that would contribute to the resiliency of the community to recover from future natural disasters while also building a sustainable economy. Projects being considered by the City and the Port at this time include improving community emergency preparedness through education, and physical improvements to water systems, emergency medical services, bridges and port facilities.

The City of Brookings invites written public comment on this program. Written comments may be addressed to the Brookings City Manager by email to gmilliman@brookings.or.us, or by mail to NCRC Comments, Brookings City Hall, 898 Elk Drive, Brookings, OR 97415.

Written comments may also be delivered in person to the City Recorder at 898 Elk Drive.
