[ARCHIVED] Chetco Point Park Entrance Closed

The main access to Chetco Point Park on Wharf Street next to the Wastewater Treatment Plant is now closed as work on a major bluff stabilization construction project continues along the Chetco Point Park trail and inside the plant just beyond the picnic area.

Temporary security fencing was installed to allow continued public access to the picnic area but vandals have torn it down twice this week. Due to the considerable amount of hazardous materials within the plant, and damage to equipment that could result in injury to the public and environmental damage, the entrance to the park will be closed until the stabilization work is completed.

For more information on the project, contact Ray Page, Treatment Plant Supervisor, at 541-469-1181.
