Volunteers are needed to participate in the Adopt-A-Highway Program.

The City of Brookings is partnering with Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to help clean up litter from the Oregon/California border to north of Brookings. This is an ongoing effort with a minimum one year commitment to make a difference in the community by removing curbside litter from Highway 101.

Individuals, groups and businesses volunteering to adopt a one mile stretch of highway will receive safety training, safety vest, litter bags, and a sign dedicated in their name for their one mile segment. Volunteers provide their own transportation and set their own schedule. Trash bags will be disposed of by ODOT. Recycling is encouraged.

If interested, please contact Tony Baron, Parks and Technical Supervisor for the City of Brookings at 541-469-1159; abaron@brookings.or.us.
