Construction on a water main replacement project on Eastwood Lane began this week. The project is the result of a slide, triggered during the November 2012 slide event, that impacted an existing 6 inch line on Eastwood.
Due to the instability of the site, temporary water service to the area has been provided by a food grade fire hose while geotechnical investigation and construction plans were being completed.
The project includes upsizing the water main to an 8-inch pipe, relocating the existing water meters and installing a new fire hydrant.
While the area is outside City limits, the City is committed to providing safe and adequate service to all of its customers. The City also installed a fire hydrant as part of the project to further develop the City's ability to serve the entire community in the event of an emergency.
