Anyone can now make tax-deductible contributions to their favorite Brookings park improvement project through the City’s website. Most park improvements have been funded through private donations or local service club efforts and the City has a number of projects in planning and development stages.
Donors can click on the link below to access the on-line form and specify their and can be made by credit card through the City’s Finance Department or by check to the City.
Contributions will be held in a special account just for each project and funds will be used to either fund an entire project, an element of a project, or to match grant funding or other funds available for selected park project improvements.
More projects, like the recent Mill Beach access project, are made possible with financial support of private contributors. Among the 22 projects available on the parks donation list are the development of a unleashed pet area at Stout Park, reconfiguration and expansion of athletic fields at Azalea Park and a public restroom facility at Chetco Point Park.
The City can also accommodate donations to purchase specific elements such as a memorial bench or picnic table. To make a donation of this type, or for more information about parks projects and making contributions, contact Parks and Technical Services Supervisor Tony Baron at (541) 469-1159.
