[ARCHIVED] Donations Being Accepted for Katelyn's Cause Foundation

Monetary donations are being accepted by Brookings Police Chief Chris Wallace, Curry County Sheriff John Bishop, and their wives, Molly and Kris, for Katelyn's Cause Foundation benefiting the children in the Oncology Ward at Doernbecher's Childrens Hospital in Portland.

Katelyn's Cause Foundation was formed in memory of Chief Wallace's daughter who lost her fight against cancer on April 28, 2008; she had just turned 17.

This is the third year the Foundation will fund the purchase of gifts for children who will be spending their holidays in Doernbecher's Oncology Ward. Due to their greatly impaired immune systems, there are restrictions on the types of gifts these children can accept; monetary donations are used to purchase appropriate gifts.

Donations to Katelyn's Cause may be made at the Brookings Police Department on Elk Drive, or the Sheriff's Department in Gold Beach. Donations are tracked by the Curry County Finance Department and 100% of the funds will go to Doernbecher's.
