Work to replace a storm drain facility near the intersection of Memory Lane and Buena Vista Loop in Brookings is scheduled to begin within the next few weeks.
The project will involve enlarging and reconfiguring an existing storm drain inlet to improve the transition flow of water from a system of roadside ditches into a 48-inch pipeline that discharges into the ocean. According to Public Works & Development Director Loree Pryce, the existing facility requires a high level of maintenance by Public Works Department employees during rainstorms.
A contract for the $95,195 project was awarded October 4 to McLennen Excavators, of Brookings. The contract requires that the project be completed by November 8, weather permitting.
