All members of the committee must be residents of Curry County. Four of the seven members must reside within the City of Brookings. Non-city residents must have an economic interest, such as property ownership, business ownership, or employment within the City. Terms are 3 years.

The primary role of the Tourism Promotion Advisory Committee is to advise the City Council on the use of transient occupancy tax (TOT) revenues allotted for tourism promotion

Staff support for this commission is provided by the City Manager.

Support for New Events

The City of Brookings supports the development of new events or the addition of events to current events that would increase out of area visitor attendance during off-season months (October thru April). The City offers incentives to assist event organizers in facilitating and promoting their events.
