Meetings
Meetings are primarily held in the first half of the calendar year. 

Budget Committee Members
Membership is by appointment of the City Council. Budget Committee membership is limited to City residents. To apply to fill a vacancy, complete an application and submit it to the City Recorder.   Terms are 3 years

The committee chooses from its membership a chair and vice chair, and hears public comments at the first committee meeting in each calendar year. Learn more about volunteering.

Responsibilities
The Budget Committee is comprised of the five-member City Council and an equal number of resident members and is responsible for setting the City’s budget and forwarding the approved document to the City Council for final adoption.

The finance and human resources director serves as the committee's budget officer and is responsible for preparing the budget under the direction of the City Manager, as well as preparing the budget message, budget calendar, and making the required notifications.
