Street Repairs in Brookings

Street repair work at various locations around Brookings started today, City Manager Gary Milliman announced.

“We have been waiting for good weather to get this work underway,” Milliman said.  “Because some of this work is in the vicinity of schools, we were also waiting for Spring Break.”  Preparation work for an upcoming paving project on eight streets also began today.

The 11 repair work locations include Oak at Railroad, Mulberry at Linden, Buena Vista Loop, Alder near Railroad, Cover Road, Railroad near Kid Zone, 360 Pacific, Macklyn Cove, 3rd Street between Easy and Ransom, Easy at 6th Street and various locations along 7th Street.

Motorists should expect traffic delays and detours during the construction period.

More extensive paving projects will occur in the coming weeks.  Construction on Railroad Street is scheduled to recommence in early May.
